How to get to the foxtown outlet?

Getting there by train from Milan: is no less convenient, and the new train station is very close to the outlet. Train from the station to Mendrisio S. Martino, direction Lugano.

The opening hours of the shopping center in Mendrisio also differ from Milan outlets.
Open:
- from 11:00 to 19:00 (and in Italy – until 21:00) – daily;
- from 11:00 to 17:00 – December 24, on the eve of Catholic Christmas;
- from 11:00 to 17:00 – December 31, on New Year’s Eve.
Closed:
- January 1, New Year’s;
- on Easter Sunday;
- August 1 – national holiday;
- on Catholic Christmas and the feast of St. Stefan.

Since this is a Swiss outlet, there are significant differences, it is important to know the nuances.
Prices in Foxtown
- Original fashion items in the Foxtown outlet are usually 20-40% cheaper than in brand boutiques.
- Regular promotions in stores give you a chance to buy something at a 70% discount.
Payment
- The price is indicated in local currency. You can also pay in euros at the rate set by the store, but you will be given change in francs=).
- Exchange is carried out right on the spot. The euro and Swiss franc rates are close – for example, on June 27, 2017, the franc was 0.92 euros.
- They accept credit cards, but bring your passport or other identification to Foxtown – they may ask.
Tax Free Refund in Switzerland
- This can be done directly at the shopping center, which will return the tax free in cash or to the card. It is 5% (and not 11-14%, as in Italy).
- The minimum check for which it is issued is 300 francs (as opposed to the Italian 155 dollars).
- The Global Blue point is located on the 1st floor.
Where to eat
It is difficult to get around such a number of branded stores without a snack and a rest. The outlet will please you with cafes, restaurants, bars, food courts (it is better to take cash here).
Documents
- Citizens of Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan do not require a separate visa for shopping in Switzerland on the border with Italy if they have an Italian tourist visa.
- But this does not cancel the original documents, which must be taken with you everywhere, otherwise you may not even be allowed on the bus to the outlet.

Italians and Russians speak differently about FoxTown. For example, the former may not buy anything, despite the fact that there is the widest assortment.
